Center for Urban Performance and Service (CUPS) began in 1998 as a performing arts ministry for inner city kids designed to teach them how to use their creative gifts to honor and serve God. Since it’s inception, the ministry has grown from teaching tambourines and flags to offering a multitude of classes in the performing arts including, but not limited to Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap, Music, acting and aerial arts.
The ministry provides a safe Christ-centered environment for students of all ages to learn and grow in their God given talents while encouraging them to work hard, serve others and glorify God. CUPS alumni have gone on to be leaders in the educational field, perform with pre-professional companies and perform at a collegiate level.
Students are placed in classes according to grade level in school.
Classes are scheduled based on what works best for the students who live on the Westside of Turlock.
Students are given a weekly biblestudy to complete and return the following week for CUPS bucks. Bible- studies are designed to help dancers grow in their knowledge of God and dance.
Dance students must take ballet class in order to take any other dance elective.
